Can an error or an evil way in a person, that has not been purged from the mind, have survivable traits TA can counterpart and translate to the mansion world for redressing?

The Mansion Worlds exist for this purpose…we arrive where we left as far as maturity, experiential wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual progress.  We must still transfer the seat of identity and learn to progress in the Spirit.  All shortcomings will be addressed.  Evil is only by decision/choice and not inherent in human nature so we must still learn to embrace the Spirit, no matter our mortal life’s errors, evils, sins, etc.  While we are forgiven without and prior to its request by us, still must the Circle work be completed prior to fusion.

We’ll also get to spend much time in reversion ‘therapy’….a most loving, generous, and (we are told) humorous acknowledgement of our earthly foolishness and immaturities.  Our evil and errors don’t go with us to Mansonia….but there is indeed a record for our educational review….and further progress.  Paper 48 is a good read on the topic.  But, no, evil/error/sin do not survive to or arrive upon the Mansion Worlds.  But no worries….we will err there too!

Don’t forget that evil is defined as immaturity.  Of course we will carry the potential for evil with us to the mansion worlds because we will still be immature.  The mansion worlds are where we mature, where we are forced to shed our animal vestiges, such as procrastination, reality avoidance, scapegoating, insincerity, prejudice, lack of commitment, evasiveness and slothfulness.

48:5.8 One of the purposes of the morontia career is to effect the permanent eradication from the mortal survivors of such animal vestigial traits as procrastination, equivocation, insincerity, problem avoidance, unfairness, and ease seeking. The mansonia life early teaches the young morontia pupils that postponement is in no sense avoidance. After the life in the flesh, time is no longer available as a technique of dodging situations or of circumventing disagreeable obligations.

In fact, the potential for evil stays with us until we reach final spirit levels, and even as finaliters we are only at the sixth-stage spirit level.

p1458:3 132:2.6 As you ascend the universe scale of creature development, you will find increasing goodness and diminishing evil in perfect accordance with your capacity for goodness-experience and truth-discernment. The ability to entertain error or experience evil will not be fully lost until the ascending human soul achieves final spirit levels.

If that is the case then there are going to be a heck of a lot of socially dysfunctional, deviant and all sorts of other ill-will people, be it, thieves, rapists, murderers, etc… in the afterlife. And they will continue their acts of antisocial & criminal behavior in the lower mansions. That does not come across heaven-like.  What comes to mind is the following:

Rev 21.27, “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

I completely forgot about this one:

47:9.1 The experience on this sphere is the crowning achievement of the immediate
postmortal career. During your sojourn here you will receive the instruction of many
teachers, all of whom will co-operate in the task of preparing you for residence on
Jerusem. Any discernible differences between those mortals hailing from the isolated and
retarded worlds and those survivors from the more advanced and enlightened spheres are
virtually obliterated during the sojourn on the seventh mansion world. Here you will be
purged of all the remnants of unfortunate heredity, unwholesome environment, and
unspiritual planetary tendencies. The last remnants of the “mark of the beast” are here
    eradicated.

    And this:

112:5.21 (1235.3) And when you thus awaken on the mansion worlds of Jerusem, you will be so changed, the spiritual transformation will be so great that, were it not for your Thought Adjuster and the destiny guardian, who so fully connect up your new life in the new worlds with your old life in the first world, you would at first have difficulty in connecting the new morontia consciousness with the reviving memory of your previous identity. Notwithstanding the continuity of personal selfhood, much of the mortal life would at first seem to be a vague and hazy dream. But time will clarify many mortal associations.

112:5.22 (1235.4) The Thought Adjuster will recall and rehearse for you only those memories and experiences which are a part of, and essential to, your universe career. If the Adjuster has been a partner in the evolution of aught in the human mind, then will these worth-while experiences survive in the eternal consciousness of the Adjuster. But much of your past life and its memories, having neither spiritual meaning nor morontia value, will perish with the material brain; much of material experience will pass away as onetime scaffolding which, having bridged you over to the morontia level, no longer serves a purpose in the universe. But personality and the relationships between personalities are never scaffolding; mortal memory of personality relationships has cosmic value and will persist. On the mansion worlds you will know and be known, and more, you will remember, and be remembered by, your onetime associates in the short but intriguing life on Urantia.

The vestiges of planetery animal origin, ie., “mark of the Beast’ are a part of that memory the TA rehearses to you. So obviously they have spiritual significance. Here is the revelation…

47:8.7 During the sojourn on world number six the mansion world students achieve a status which is comparable with the exalted development characterizing those evolutionary worlds which have normally progressed beyond the initial stage of light and life. The organization of society on this mansonia is of a high order. The shadow of the mortal nature grows less and less as these worlds are ascended one by one. You are becoming more and more adorable as you leave behind the coarse vestiges of planetary animal origin. “Coming up through great tribulation” serves to make glorified mortals very kind and understanding, very sympathetic and tolerant.

This quote explains the use of the metaphor “mark of the beast.” It refers to the untoward effects of the material world upon the developing character while living in the flesh.  It is character at issue here.  The question becomes: What is the effect of memory on character?

And these are Jesus’ words in part:

153:3.5  […] I declare it is not that which enters the body by the mouth or gains access to the mind through the eyes and ears, that defiles the man. Man is only defiled by that evil which may originate within the heart, and which finds expression in the words and deeds of such unholy persons. Do you not know it is from the heart that there come forth evil thoughts, wicked projects of murder, theft, and adulteries, together with jealousy, pride, anger, revenge, railings, and false witness? And it is just such things that defile men, and not that they eat bread with ceremonially unclean hands.”

It is safe to say that evil can and will be counterparted by TA  for further purging from the mind in the afterlife.  And some examples of evil are listed by Jesus, eg., evil thoughts, projects of murder, and theft. So one can assume there will continue the act of murder and theft and evil speakings in the mansion world.

What is evil?  Evil is simply error, imperfection and immaturity.   The mansion worlds are an extension of mortal life starting off exactly where we leave off on our planet of nativity. As we progress on the mansion worlds we become more perfected, which means we put aside childish things of error, imperfection and immaturity, which are the “mark of the beast”.  Truth drives out all error as we grow, both here on earth, and in the mansion worlds to come.

141:6.2 How often have I told you to labor only to put something into these hungry souls? Lead men into the kingdom, and the great and living truths of the kingdom will presently drive out all serious error.

132:04 In each case he would select the truth in what they taught and then proceed so to embellish and illuminate this truth in their minds that in a very short time this enhancement of the truth effectively crowded out the associated error.

Evil and error are not the same. These terms, error, evil, and sin, need to be defined if we are to discuss them.

1054:0.1 EVOLUTIONARY man finds it difficult fully to comprehend the significance and to grasp the meanings of evil, error, sin, and iniquity. Man is slow to perceive that contrastive perfection and imperfection produce potential evil; that conflicting truth and falsehood create confusing error; that the divine endowment of freewill choice eventuates in the divergent realms of sin and righteousness; that the persistent pursuit of divinity leads to the kingdom of God as contrasted with its continuous rejection, which leads to the domains of iniquity.

    • Error – falsehood.
    • Evil – imperfection.
    • Sin – freewill choice of evil.
    • Iniquity- the persistent pursuit of sin and error

Error leads to evil. Evil leads to sin. And sin leads to iniquity. That is the “order of operation,” so-to-speak.

A jealous husband in a fit of rage kills a man who he suspects is having an affair with his wife. The act of killing is an imperfection as it entails conflict:

5:6.4 3. […]  Thus arises imperfection in the evolutionary creations. And this is the origin of potential evil. Misadaptation, disharmony, and conflict, all these things are inherent in evolutionary growth, from physical universes to personal creatures.

Evil is an inherent feature of the imperfect universes of time and space (148:4.6), but evil itself is only potential.  The potential for evil is just as necessary as the potential for good in order to set up the situation wherein a person can choose between the two.  Once a choice is made, either evil becomes actual or good becomes actual.  The act of choosing to actuate evil is an error, but evil was there in the first place, ready to be chosen.  Clarification needs to be made between potential evil and actual evil.

148:4.6  Evil is inherent in the natural order of this world, . . .

130:1.6 “Your Father in heaven, by endowing you with the power to choose between truth and error, created the potential negative of the positive way of light and life; but such errors of evil are really nonexistent until such a time as an intelligent creature wills their existence by mischoosing the way of life. And then are such evils later exalted into sin by the knowing and deliberate choice of such a willful and rebellious creature. This is why our Father in heaven permits the good and the evil to go along together until the end of life, just as nature allows the wheat and the tares to grow side by side until the harvest.”

56:10.13 The recognition of true relations implies a mind competent to discriminate between truth and error.

130:4.11 Error (evil) is the penalty of imperfection. The qualities of imperfection or facts of misadaptation are disclosed on the material level by critical observation and by scientific analysis; on the moral level, by human experience. The presence of evil constitutes proof of the inaccuracies of mind and the immaturity of the evolving self. Evil is, therefore, also a measure of imperfection in universe interpretation. The possibility of making mistakes is inherent in the acquisition of wisdom, the scheme of progressing from the partial and temporal to the complete and eternal, from the relative and imperfect to the final and perfected. Error is the shadow of relative incompleteness which must of necessity fall across man’s ascending universe path to Paradise perfection. Error (evil) is not an actual universe quality; it is simply the observation of a relativity in the relatedness of the imperfection of the incomplete finite to the ascending levels of the Supreme and Ultimate.

Here is another quote which explain what error is.  Error is a distortion of reality; evil is partial realization of reality; sin is an opposition to reality; iniquity is persistent defiance of reality.  Error is mental deficiency; evil is wisdom deficiency; sin is spiritual deficiency and iniquity is personality deficiency.

67:1.4-5  Error might be regarded as a misconception or distortion of reality. Evil is a partial realization of, or maladjustment to, universe realities. But sin is a purposeful resistance to divine reality – a conscious choosing to oppose spiritual progress – while iniquity consists in an open and persistent defiance of recognized reality and signifies such a degree of personality disintegration as to border on cosmic insanity. Error suggests lack of intellectual keenness; evil, deficiency of wisdom; sin, abject spiritual poverty; but iniquity is indicative of vanishing personality control.

    Jesus explained evil this way:

148:4.3 Evil is the unconscious or unintended transgression of the divine law, the Father’s will. Evil is likewise the measure of the imperfectness of obedience to the Father’s will.

Consciously or unconsciously, intended or unintended, making an erroneous choice is a transgression; it goes against God’s will.  Such an error is untrue and therefore unreal.  It cannot endure, but such actuated evil is not without consequences, that’s for sure!  However, in terms of error, there’s hope for all of us immature, mistake-prone creatures.

88:4.5 Man is gradually backing into the truth, beginning in error, progressing in error, and finally attaining the threshold of truth.

There’s a lot we can learn about the word error as defined and described in TUB.   Here are a few:

We know that complete error is automatically suicidal (2:3.7).  That must mean that there are degrees of error with complete error being somewhat synonymous with iniquity.

Error causes disappointment and sorrow because it cannot be acted out in reality (2:7.6).  People who persistently make poor choices must be absolutely miserable.

We’re told that if we love truth and are willing to go where it leads us, we must also be willing to live,  “. . .  in a world where error is present and falsehood always possible.” (3:5.10)

We also know that a world without error is a world without free intelligence. (3:5.15)

Evolution is a process designed to gradually diminish “. . . the content of the evil, error, and disharmony of relative reality.” (4:2.4)

Human wisdom grows from trial and error. (4:3.4)

Just as goodness adds to the benefit of all men, error augments the suffering of all men. (12:7.11)

There is danger in surrendering to the error of a narrow viewpoint caused by the inherent evil of a fragmented concept of reality. (19:1.4) Which means that since partial reality is evil, we are unable to see the entire picture and are subject to error.
