I guess it takes a certain level of unfettered and humble human intelligence to appreciate that we have a bigger range of choice as regards our SPIRITUAL progress than we have in manipulating genes.

Eugenics is a simple selection – not breeding with the “markedly unfit”, and practicing quarantine when fast moving plagues overtake current knowledge.

Successful eugenics has quietly been practiced among peoples who chose not to reproduce out of kindness, love and mercy – not to hand over the hardship of ill health to progeny.

How much of labor and enterprise should be poured into a chase for “cures” for something that would never exist to begin with if the “markedly unfit” is consistently eliminated?  Instead of more and more investment made into labs analyzing what the “pollution” is and how it is killing organic life forms

and fewer and fewer people are benefiting from the polluting “product” – that psychotic shaman and his majik stick gizmo –

such selfish and unfair investment by a minority can be re-directed into the gift of TIME for all of humanity to consider where they SPIRITUALLY want to go next!

This topic with its look at origins, was taking up the talking point presented in The Urantia Book that an effort to clear up the confusion of compounded errors resulting from partial knowledge of evolutionary history can be assisted by considering origin and destiny.

The consultative “round the able” open discussion as practiced by Andites would be conducive to fostering mutual respect based on equality and fraternity, initially within the family dynamic, then spreading to social relations in general. This is an alternative to the traditional patriarchal model, now with the emancipated appreciation of gender equality, being seriously challenged.

Human society would be greatly improved if the civilized races would more generally return to the family-council practices of the Andites. They did not maintain the patriarchal or autocratic form of family government. They were very brotherly and associative, freely and frankly discussing every proposal and regulation of a family nature. They were ideally fraternal in all their family government. From the family come the understandings of true morality arising from the necessity of adjustment to other and diverse personalities. parents attain the Creator viewpoint, children experience the first of a long series of disclosures of being loved.

Family life is the progenitor of true morality, the ancestor of the consciousness of loyalty to duty. The enforced associations of family life stabilize personality and stimulate its growth through the compulsion of necessitous adjustment to other and diverse personalities. But even more, a true family — a good family — reveals to the parental procreators the attitude of the Creator to his children, while at the same time such true parents portray to their children the first of a long series of ascending disclosures of the love of the Paradise parent of all universe children.  ^{[Paper84:7.30, page  942:1]}

Consider also the reason why the revelatory commission chose to impress upon or minds the significance of eugenics.

A quick search on the word “degenerate” resulted in 12 results with descriptive paragraphs either side of the one containing the term “degenerate” to provide context.

Essentially the problem our world faces is the unfinished work of biologic improvement. On a normal inhabited world, evolutionary races are destined to be blended and exalted by amalgamation with the progeny of the Adamic uplifters. But before these peoples are blended, the inferior and unfit are largely eliminated. They too have a rebellion seared history and have managed to implement a practical solution to their own population in absence of Planetary Prince or Material Son to pass upon the fitness of the reproducing strains.

We are told we should at least have the capacity to manage and regulate the most obvious instances of degeneracy.

Hybridization is the means of the creation of new and more vigorous strains.

There is great potential for “sudden” improvement as a result of hybridization resulting from union of superior strains.

Race blending greatly contributes to the sudden appearance of new characteristics, and if such hybridization is the union of superior strains, then these new characteristics will also be superior traits. ^{[Paper 82:6.6, page  920:4]}

As long as present-day races are so overloaded with inferior and degenerate strains, race intermingling on a large scale would be most detrimental, but most of the objections to such experiments rest on social and cultural prejudices rather than on biological considerations. Even among inferior stocks, hybrids often are an improvement on their ancestors. Hybridization makes for species improvement because of the role of the dominant genes. Racial intermixture increases the likelihood of a larger number of the desirable dominants being present in the hybrid. ^{[Paper 82:6.7, page  920:5]}

It’s encouraging to learn that in the past hundred years more racial hybridization has happened than in thousands of years previously. To my thinking this is a consequence of migration and consequent resettlement within a more stable, progressive society than region of origin.

For the past hundred years more racial hybridization has been taking place on Urantia than has occurred in thousands of years. The danger of gross disharmonies as a result of crossbreeding of human stocks has been greatly exaggerated. The chief troubles of “half-breeds” are due to social prejudices. ^{[Paper 82:6.8, page  920:6]}

In the following quote, again is mentioned the folly of permitting unrestrained mutiplication of inferior and degenerate strains rather than any “supposed” danger of racial interbreeding.

The church, while doing well in helping the underprivileged, has fostered an unhealthy sentimentality when honest pragmatism would produce better outcomes. In fact this unwise tendency has tremendously retarded the progress of civilization.

That is not what I said or implied or insinuated, it is all your interpretation and I have to correct you, Vern, about what is clear in TUB – we have to work with what we’ve got – I honestly cannot comprehend how big of an ego you have to have to believe that EXPERIMENTATION is superior to EVOLUTION! Yes, which is an additional shared piece of information to add to the body of all the other references provided to us that we have the capacity to do something practical, intelligent fostering means acting with wisdom and purpose to solve a known problem. Specifically because God has already bridged the distance to make actual what is potential, the Adjuster’s plan of that particular person’s life. Here’s No. 9 which deals with the “Fostering of Evolution.” For context this includes a quote which was recently included and commented on by Sabinatu. Despite the appearance of many strange creatures during the evolutionary process a purposeful plan has been behind it all. Life Carriers are not allowed to arbitrarily interfere with development of life patterns once they’ve been activated. 

It will hardly be possible to explain to the present-day human mind many of the queer and apparently grotesque occurrences of early evolutionary progress. But it should not be inferred that the evolution of mankind would have been terminated by an accident at this juncture. The capacity for human evolution arising from prehuman animal ancestors was exhausted well before the arrival of Adam and Eve.  The Life Carriers were made aware of this stage of completion by the phenomena of the third phase of adjutant spirit mobilization.

Long before the Material Son and Daughter, the biologic uplifters, arrive on a planet, the human potentials of the evolving animal species have been exhausted. This biologic status of animal life is disclosed to the Life Carriers by the phenomenon of the third phase of adjutant spirit mobilization, which automatically occurs concomitantly with the exhaustion of the capacity of all animal life to give origin to the mutant potentials of prehuman individuals. ^{[Paper65:3.5, page 734:2]}

Life Carriers are able to function and do function on three levels, physical level of electrochemistry, usual mid-phase of quasi-morontial existence and advanced semispiritual level. Exhaustion of human potentials arising from evolving animal species is when they take renunciation vows and function on the advanced semispiritual third level.

After organic evolution has run a certain course and free will of the human type has appeared in the highest evolving organisms, the Life Carriers must either leave the planet or take renunciation vows; that is, they must pledge themselves to refrain from all attempts further to influence the course of organic evolution. And when such vows are voluntarily taken by those Life Carriers who choose to remain on the planet as future advisers to those who shall be intrusted with the fostering of the newly evolved will creatures, there is summoned a commission of twelve, presided over by the chief of the Evening Stars, acting by authority of the System Sovereign and with permission of Gabriel; and forthwith these Life Carriers are transmuted to the third phase of personality existence — the semispiritual level of being. Isn’t that amazing. The Life Carrier who has communicated the paragraph above, is a member of the original group of Life Carriers who 600,000,000 years ago worked on the experimental life patterns in the first place. Brought them here, 550,000,000 years ago, implanted them in the prehistoric shallow seas, had them activated with the life spark and fostered their evolutionary development till Andon and Fonta appeared and Urantia was registered an inhabited world 993,489 years ago. Now this Life Carrier of Nebadon serves on as a resident on Urantia. This Life Carrier urges us on to shape our own destiny now that the life shaping phase is over for Life Carriers. There is still human development to be made through the intelligent fostering of the evolutionary potentials still resident in the mortal races.

When we are tempted to magnify our self-importance, if we stop to contemplate the infinity of the greatness and grandeur of our Makers, our own self-glorification becomes sublimely ridiculous, even verging on the humorous. The way I (and I assume with my TA’s help processing “infinity” concepts) re-organized this information for a revelation addition to my experientially earned knowledge is that “evolution” is how The First Source and Center cast the shadow of infinity – time and space – and filled it with “life”.  God’s Will, God’s Plans – the origin.  The creature monkey-ing around – mechanically – with stuff even Life Carriers don’t mess with makes me ask, with mirth, “Gee, what could go wrong there?”  Especially since the “purpose” of the monkey-ing around is “greed is good”, the only prevailing philosophy for living currently in operation in “medical research” launched as the “spiritual” component to Viagra – humorous, indeed….

Thanks for turning our attention to this Sab. It’s clear from that statement that once free-will-choice capable mortals arrive on the scene the ball is in our court. Mankind becomes master of its own destiny. Within very closely constrained limits of course……..can’t do the non-doable even if attempted. Just like Christianity made a whole lot of mistakes……..however, it did act.

That’s what humans do……..they act………..make mistakes………….learn from experience………….evolve.

Such is life in a finite realm with a defined beginning and ……………where eternal endings are only potential…………..only made actual………by choice.

The finite level is where animal-origin mortals with personality endowment, begin. The Deity function on the finite level is:

3. superpersonal

The finite level of reality is characterized by creature life and time-space limitations. Finite realities may not have endings, but they always have beginnings — they are created. I trotted out that quote from TUB to PROVE that even highly qualified Life Carriers DO NOT deviate from EVOLUTION – God’s Plan and Will!

If Life Carriers do not mechanically intervene or arbitrarily manipulate, what makes you think YOU or any other human is ALLOWED to monkey with our “destiny” in that way??!!

And there have been 4 epochal revelations helping mankind’s destiny since Caligastia with his fetish for mechanically intervening and arbitrarily manipulating EVOLUTION got started.

Humans require feeling to establish meaning. Even now we tend to follow “feelings” about things rather than what we “think” about them.

You must remember that feeling, not thinking, was the guiding and controlling influence in all evolutionary development. To the primitive mind there is little difference between fearing, shunning, honoring, and worshiping. ^{[Paper 85:7.2, page  948:7]}

The is good reason for Worship and Wisdom to be so aligned, it introduces the reflective powers of the mind to bring a sense of balance to the motivational urge to worship. It allows us to go beyond the inspirational manifestation of beauty and integrated patterns of nature to the phenomenon of life itself and contemplate, how it is that persons have within themselves, the capacity to relate, the part to the whole? This is “origin” of real religion.

When the worship urge is admonished and directed by wisdom — meditative and experiential thinking — it then begins to develop into the phenomenon of real religion. When the seventh adjutant spirit, the spirit of wisdom, achieves effective ministration, then in worship man begins to turn away from nature and natural objects to the God of nature and to the eternal Creator of all things natural. ^{[Paper 85:7.3, page  948:8]}
