Some of the Psalms are more uplifing and meaningful to me.  Some of them are prayerful and others are scolding in tone. Or even pleading and desperate, expressive of the thoughts of the writers. And there were quite a few writers.

    96:7.2 [Part III]
The Psalms are the work of a score or more of authors; many were written by Egyptian and Mesopotamian teachers. During these times when the Levant worshiped nature gods, there were still a goodly number who believed in the supremacy of El Elyon, the Most High.
But let’s read about Melchizedek and Abraham:
    35:4.5 [Part II]
The Melchizedek who lived on Urantia during the time of Abraham was locally known as Prince of Salem because he presided over a small colony of truth seekers residing at a place called Salem. He volunteered to incarnate in the likeness of mortal flesh and did so with the approval of the Melchizedek receivers of the planet, who feared that the light of life would become extinguished during that period of increasing spiritual darkness. And he did foster the truth of his day and safely pass it on to Abraham and his associates.
    93:3.8 [Part III]
And thus did Melchizedek prepare the way and set the monotheistic stage of world tendency for the bestowal of an actual Paradise Son of the one God, whom he so vividly portrayed as the Father of all, and whom he represented to Abraham as a God who would accept man on the simple terms of personal faith. And Michael, when he appeared on earth, confirmed all that Melchizedek had taught concerning the Paradise Father.
Melchizedek arrived in the Arabian desert 1,973 years before Michael of Nebadon was born as a babe on our world.
    93:2.1 [Part III]
It was 1,973 years before the birth of Jesus that Machiventa was bestowed upon the human races of Urantia. His coming was unspectacular; his materialization was not witnessed by human eyes. He was first observed by mortal man on that eventful day when he entered the tent of Amdon, a Chaldean herder of Sumerian extraction. And the proclamation of his mission was embodied in the simple statement which he made to this shepherd, “I am Melchizedek, priest of El Elyon, the Most High, the one and only God.”

Melchizedek set the stage and prepared the way for monotheism. He trained teachers, missionaries, who went far and wide, preaching Machiventa’s gospel of man’s faith and trust in the one universal God as the only price of obtaining divine favor.

    94:0.1 [Part III]
THE early teachers of the Salem religion penetrated to the remotest tribes of Africa and Eurasia, ever preaching Machiventa’s gospel of man’s faith and trust in the one universal God as the only price of obtaining divine favor. Melchizedek’s covenant with Abraham was the pattern for all the early propaganda that went out from Salem and other centers. Urantia has never had more enthusiastic and aggressive missionaries of any religion than these noble men and women who carried the teachings of Melchizedek over the entire Eastern Hemisphere. These missionaries were recruited from many peoples and races, and they largely spread their teachings through the medium of native converts. They established training centers in different parts of the world where they taught the natives the Salem religion and then commissioned these pupils to function as teachers among their own people.
And further – the evolution to get to monotheism:
    96:0.1 [Part III]
IN CONCEIVING of Deity, man first includes all gods, then subordinates all foreign gods to his tribal deity, and finally excludes all but the one God of final and supreme value. The Jews synthesized all gods into their more sublime concept of the Lord God of Israel. The Hindus likewise combined their multifarious deities into the “one spirituality of the gods” portrayed in the Rig-Veda, while the Mesopotamians reduced their gods to the more centralized concept of Bel-Marduk. These ideas of monotheism matured all over the world not long after the appearance of Machiventa Melchizedek at Salem in Palestine. But the Melchizedek concept of Deity was unlike that of the evolutionary philosophy of inclusion, subordination, and exclusion; it was based exclusively on creative power and very soon influenced the highest deity concepts of Mesopotamia, India, and Egypt.
We do learn from olden written records. And the research is wonderful and meaningful especially to those who have mastered these various records. I think very few people choose to achieve such granularity of the chronologies. But look what the Hebrew priests did to the telling of their own story. And they are not the only people who have tinkered with with their stories to make records that are incorrect. But don’t rock the boat.

In Hebrews 7, Melchizedek is described as fatherless and motherless without a family tree, but why was his coming not prophesied if it was the great Michael himself? and why his second coming in the body of Jesus was prophesied and why was Jesus born from the body of Mary? why did he not come in the same way as Melchizedek?

Important questions!  All answered in great detail in the UB.   Michael and Machiventa Melchizedek are not the same beings.  Much has occurred on our world that was never “prophesied” ashuras.

Hebrew (or Christian or any other) scripture is neither accurate or replete.  Oral histories and history written by humans is hardly ever, or never, accurate or replete.  History written by humans is very subjective and selective in its inclusions and exclusions and agenda.  It is often unfactual propaganda in fact.

You may wish to study Papers 21 and 93.

    Thanks for asking!!  :good:

    Melchizedek

Melchi or Melkhi which is MALAKH and mean Angel.

    Zedek mean Righteousness

So Melchizedek mean -,, Angel of Righteousness?

Zadkiel (Hebrew: צִדְקִיאֵל Ṣīḏqīʾēl, ‘God is my Righteousness’), also known as Hasdiel,[a] is an archangel in Jewish and Christian angelology.

In Jewish mysticism and Christian Kabbalah, Zadkiel is associated with the classical planet Jupiter.[4] The angel’s position in the sephirot is fourth, which corresponds to Chesed “Kindness”.[5][6]

I AM Zadkiel, Amethyst above me. And here at this altar this night, beloved, there does stand before you the beloved, the most revered Ascended Master Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of the Most High God. <1> Will you not welcome him to your midst?

Blessed ones, I assure you that it is a most holy occasion that the one who did visit Abraham, [a past life of] your own beloved El Morya, has chosen to come and [has] received from the heart of Alpha and Omega that divine approbation and that consent. O beloved, in this hour prepare thyself for the divine anointing.

I come, beloved, that you might know and understand that the LORD God, the Almighty One of Israel, the Holy One of God, has therefore decreed, Thus far and no farther!  The fiat of the LORD does go forth, and out of the mouth of God there does pour forth liquid sacred fire to swallow up even the flood that is cast after the Woman and her seed.

And therefore, beloved, there is in this night and in this hour a turning back and a turning around of Darkness as the infamy that has been plotted again and again for centuries against the Messengers of God, the holy prophets, the Christed ones and their disciples. So, beloved, [inasmuch] as this has been, the Lord God has declared, “Thus far and no farther!”

Blessed ones, it is by the very gravity itself:  those who are at the lowest level now must receive back upon themselves by the inexorable law of karma that which they have sought to do and that means whereby they have sought to prevail against the Lightbearers, whether by murder, whether by deceit, whether by deception.

Come forth, O Christ!  Come forth to descend into these temples!

Let there be the understanding that we anoint for the finishing of an age, for the conclusion, and for new beginnings. We anoint those who have prepared themselves and who have earnestly prayed at inner levels since it has been told to them that they might apply to become a part of this priesthood [of the Order of Melchizedek.

Okay….this just got real weird (er).

Too bad.  Somebody is channeling something unreal and irrational now.  Self delusion is so obvious when imposed upon others I think.

The Urantia Book (sometimes called The Urantia Papers or The Fifth Epochal Revelation) is a spiritual, philosophical, and religious book that originated in Chicago, Illinois, United States sometime between 1924 and 1955. The authorship remains a matter of debate. It has received various degrees of interest ranging from praise to criticism for its religious and science-related content, its unusual length, and the unusual names and origins of the authors named within the book.

A native of Indiana, Sadler moved to Michigan as a teenager to work at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. There he met the physician and health-food promoter John Harvey Kellogg, co-inventor of corn flakes breakfast cereal, who became his mentor. Sadler married Kellogg’s niece, Lena Celestia Kellogg, in 1897. He worked for several Christian organizations and attended medical school, graduating in 1906. Sadler practiced medicine in Chicago with his wife, who was also a physician. He joined several medical associations and taught at the McCormick Theological Seminary. Although he was a committed member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for almost twenty years, he left the denomination after it disfellowshipped his wife’s uncle, John Harvey Kellogg, in 1907. Sadler and his wife became speakers on the Chautauqua adult education circuit in 1907, and he became a highly paid, popular orator. He eventually wrote over 40 books on a variety of medical and spiritual topics advocating a holistic approach to health. Sadler extolled the value of prayer and religion but was skeptical of mediums, assisting debunker Howard Thurston, and embraced the scientific consensus on evolution.

    Why? I agree with Bradly:

Hebrew (or Christian or any other) scripture is neither accurate or replete.  Oral histories and history written by humans is hardly ever, or never, accurate or replete.  History written by humans is very subjective and selective in its inclusions and exclusions and agenda.  It is often unfactual propaganda in fact.

I think people err when they depend upon what an olden personage has predicted will happen or what will not happen in the future. Human history is strewn with the veribage of soothsayers.

    87:5.14 [Part III]
It was not merely out of curiosity that the ancients sought to know the future; they wanted to dodge ill luck. Divination was simply an attempt to avoid trouble. During these times, dreams were regarded as prophetic, while everything out of the ordinary was considered an omen. And even today the civilized races are cursed with the belief in signs, tokens, and other superstitious remnants of the advancing ghost cult of old. Slow, very slow, is man to abandon those methods whereby he so gradually and painfully ascended the evolutionary scale of life.
“Religious persons must not regard every vivid psychologic presentiment and every intense emotional experience as a divine revelation or a spiritual communication.” 91:7.3
    .
Soothsaying is rampant these days and some people have cultish followers who hang on every word uttered. These people truly believe themselves and they must have an audience. Otherwise why do it?
    .
Again, we can read a bit of what the Hebrews did to their olden record:
    122:4.4 [Part IV]
Most of the so-called Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament were made to apply to Jesus long after his life had been lived on earth. For centuries the Hebrew prophets had proclaimed the coming of a deliverer, and these promises had been construed by successive generations as referring to a new Jewish ruler who would sit upon the throne of David and, by the reputed miraculous methods of Moses, proceed to establish the Jews in Palestine as a powerful nation, free from all foreign domination. Again, many figurative passages found throughout the Hebrew scriptures were subsequently misapplied to the life mission of Jesus. Many Old Testament sayings were so distorted as to appear to fit some episode of the Master’s earth life. Jesus himself onetime publicly denied any connection with the royal house of David. Even the passage, “a maiden shall bear a son,” was made to read, “a virgin shall bear a son.” This was also true of the many genealogies of both Joseph and Mary which were constructed subsequent to Michael’s career on earth. Many of these lineages contain much of the Master’s ancestry, but on the whole they are not genuine and may not be depended upon as factual. The early followers of Jesus all too often succumbed to the temptation to make all the olden prophetic utterances appear to find fulfillment in the life of their Lord and Master.

I think The Urantia Book is too new. It doesn’t have the burnish of an olden record. And partly for that reason it does not appeal to many people nowadays.
