The UB describes the Yellow race in paper 64:6.14. “The survival of comparatively large numbers of the yellow race is due to their intertribal peacefulness. From the days of Singlangton to the times of modern China, the yellow race has been numbered among the more peaceful of the nations of Urantia.”

The yellow race we typically describe as the Chinese. The Chinese have been a continuous culture and civilization for over 7000 years, predating even the Egyptian pyramids. They have used their creative skills and trading sagacity along the Silk Road for millennia, and still today are leading traders and skillful manufacturers of all manner of trade goods.

The current political environment within China may seem to be a hinderance to good international relations and religious growth, but the basic inherent good nature and character of the Chinese peoples will inevitably outlast the current situation.

The fertile spiritual soil for religious reception of Jesus’ teachings is just now being reawakened in the Oriental mind.

Interesting comments. Thanks!

My mind went swirling in a hundred different directions. Tell me what your ideas are about religious growth and good international relations. Seems to me religious growth is a personal matter, whereas good international relations depend upon many cooperating and forward looking leaders.

The advent of the Internet gave our world a medium for UB dissemination previously unknown.
99:1.1 [Part III]
Mechanical inventions and the dissemination of knowledge are modifying civilization; certain economic adjustments and social changes are imperative if cultural disaster is to be avoided. This new and oncoming social order will not settle down complacently for a millennium. The human race must become reconciled to a procession of changes, adjustments, and readjustments. Mankind is on the march toward a new and unrevealed planetary destiny.

70:2.20 [Part III]
Man will never accept peace as a normal mode of living until he has been thoroughly and repeatedly convinced that peace is best for his material welfare, and until society has wisely provided peaceful substitutes for the gratification of that inherent tendency periodically to let loose a collective drive designed to liberate those ever-accumulating emotions and energies belonging to the self-preservation reactions of the human species.

China has been a real powerhouse of innovative manufacturing since ancient times, and still is today. China acquires the knowledge and designs from others, finds ways to make the items faster and cheaper than anyone else, and then sells them back to others for a profit.

Perhaps because of cultural environmental restraints, new inventive thinking and creative mechanical contrivances and appliances have often not originated in China but that in no way hinders the acquiring and copying, and speedily producing working saleable commercial versions of the technologies.

Try to imagine what could happen IF the creative inventive thinking of the Western mind was to cooperatively join with the innovative copying, speedily manufacturing and marketing Oriental mind.

With the Worlds vast economic production and consumption of manufactured goods, the United States and China are leading the rest of the world. The potentials for worldwide untold levels of enrichment of the human condition are beyond the imagination.

Nearly all of the world’s countries are involved in the production and consumption of manufactured goods, so the benefits of universal international economic cooperation would seem to be the ultimate goal for all countries.

It appears the world of the 21st century is not ready for this to happen. Religion is a concerning issue.

99:4.6 (1090.2) During the psychologically unsettled times of the twentieth century, amid the economic upheavals, the moral crosscurrents, and the sociologic rip tides of the cyclonic transitions of a scientific era, thousands upon thousands of men and women have become humanly dislocated; they are anxious, restless, fearful, uncertain, and unsettled; as never before in the world’s history they need the consolation and stabilization of sound religion. In the face of unprecedented scientific achievement and mechanical development there is spiritual stagnation and philosophic chaos.

Paper 92 – The Later Evolution of Religion

92:3:7 (1006.4) But while calling attention to the fact that religion was essential to the development and preservation of civilization, it should be recorded that natural religion has also done much to cripple and handicap the very civilization which it otherwise fostered and maintained. Religion has hampered industrial activities and economic development; it has been wasteful of labor and has squandered capital; it has not always been helpful to the family; it has not adequately fostered peace and good will; it has sometimes neglected education and retarded science; it has unduly impoverished life for the pretended enrichment of death.

Mara, hello.

Good international relations will require a new social order. “This new and oncoming social order will not settle down complacently for a millennium.” We seem to be close on so many levels though, but we are now only a few decades past the horrors of the worldwide devastating wars. The League of Nations didn’t work. The United Nations is barely functional. Something “New” will have to be tried.

With the overwhelming devastation possible from the use of the current nuclear weapons that could easily cause a global extinction event, another world war cannot be allowed to happen. It appears to me that the Celestial powers that be are Not going to let that happen.

“Mankind is on the march toward a new and unrevealed planetary destiny.” I wonder if we are now seeing political events and actors that will be setting the stage for the beginning of new and better international relations that will foster greater cooperation among the nations to end the wars and the alliances.

52:6.3 (597.4) 1. Social fraternity. Multiplication of international and interracial social contacts and fraternal associations through travel, commerce, and competitive play. Development of a common language and the multiplication of multilinguists. The racial and national interchange of students, teachers, industrialists, and religious philosophers.

52:6.6 (598.1) 4. Political wisdom. Emotional maturity is essential to self-control. Only emotional maturity will insure the substitution of international techniques of civilized adjudication for the barbarous arbitrament of war. Wise statesmen will sometime work for the welfare of humanity even while they strive to promote the interest of their national or racial groups. Selfish political sagacity is ultimately suicidal—destructive of all those enduring qualities which insure planetary group survival.

I wonder what the new and unrevealed planetary destiny is going to look like. It won’t happen in my lifetime, but curious anyway.

On the part about religious growth, this growth is both individual and cultural. Have you noticed the revival of religious interest globally not only with the UB revelation, but with the intense interest with such things as The Chosen tv series? Something is tangibly occurring in the realm of a worldwide religious awakening. I am promoting the UB in all my social media and personal contacts, and I am trying to contact the Chosen group because the UB is so closely followed in many ways.

Have to go, be well, Bob White

Paper 92 – The Later Evolution of Religion

. . . especially, but not exclusively, these remarks:

92:7.13 (1013.8) Modern man is adequately self-conscious of religion, but his worshipful customs are confused and discredited by his accelerated social metamorphosis and unprecedented scientific developments. Thinking men and women want religion redefined, and this demand will compel religion to re-evaluate itself.

92:7.14 (1013.9) Modern man is confronted with the task of making more readjustments of human values in one generation than have been made in two thousand years. And this all influences the social attitude toward religion, for religion is a way of living as well as a technique of thinking.

92:7.15 (1013.10) True religion must ever be, at one and the same time, the eternal foundation and the guiding star of all enduring civilizations.

*   *   *

99:2.6 [Part III]
Modern religion finds it difficult to adjust its attitude toward the rapidly shifting social changes only because it has permitted itself to become so thoroughly traditionalized, dogmatized, and institutionalized. The religion of living experience finds no difficulty in keeping ahead of all these social developments and economic upheavals, amid which it ever functions as a moral stabilizer, social guide, and spiritual pilot. True religion carries over from one age to another the worth-while culture and that wisdom which is born of the experience of knowing God and striving to be like him.\
12:9.5 [Part I]
Your religion is becoming real because it is emerging from the slavery of fear and the bondage of superstition. Your philosophy struggles for emancipation from dogma and tradition. Your science is engaged in the agelong contest between truth and error while it fights for deliverance from the bondage of abstraction, the slavery of mathematics, and the relative blindness of mechanistic materialism.

149:0:4 (1668.4) Throughout this period and subsequently, up to the time of the final departure of Jesus and the twelve for Jerusalem, David Zebedee maintained a permanent headquarters for the work of the kingdom in his father’s house at Bethsaida. … David employed forty to fifty messengers in this intelligence division of the rapidly enlarging and extending work of the kingdom.

John 11: 3 Therefore his sisters sent (by messenger runner) unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. My ( ) reference to Davids’ messenger service.

Fun research! Thanks for sharing.

Good question. We do have tremendous celestial help. I too look forward to greater cooperation among nations. It’s a complicated affair. I share these references for our mutual edification.
70:2.21 [Part III]
But even in passing, war should be honored as the school of experience which compelled a race of arrogant individualists to submit themselves to highly concentrated authority — a chief executive. Old-fashioned war did select the innately great men for leadership, but modern war no longer does this. To discover leaders society must now turn to the conquests of peace: industry, science, and social achievement.
70:12.2 [Part III]
While primitive authority was based on strength, physical power, the ideal government is the representative system wherein leadershipis based on ability, but in the days of barbarism there was entirely too much war to permit representative government to function effectively. In the long struggle between division of authority and unity of command, the dictator won. The early and diffuse powers of the primitive council of elders were gradually concentrated in the person of the absolute monarch. After the arrival of real kings the groups of elders persisted as quasi-legislative-judicial advisory bodies; later on, legislatures of co-ordinate status made their appearance, and eventually supreme courts of adjudication were established separate from the legislatures.
81:6.37 [Part III]
13. Effective and wise leadership. In civilization much, very much, depends on an enthusiastic and effective load-pulling spirit. Ten men are of little more value than one in lifting a great load unless they lift together — all at the same moment. And such teamwork — social co-operation — is dependent on leadership. The cultural civilizations of the past and the present have been based upon the intelligent co-operation of the citizenry with wise and progressive leaders; and until man evolves to higher levels, civilization will continue to be dependent on wise and vigorous leadership.
81:6.42 [Part III]
Leadership is vital to progress. Wisdom, insight, and foresight are indispensable to the endurance of nations. Civilization is never really jeopardized until able leadership begins to vanish. And the quantity of such wise leadership has never exceeded one per cent of the population.
.
195:9.4 [Part IV]
Religion does need new leaders, spiritual men and women who will dare to depend solely on Jesus and his incomparable teachings. If Christianity persists in neglecting its spiritual mission while it continues to busy itself with social and material problems, the spiritual renaissance must await the coming of these new teachers of Jesus’ religion who will be exclusively devoted to the spiritual regeneration of men. And then will these spirit-born souls quickly supply the leadership and inspiration requisite for the social, moral, economic, and political reorganization of the world.
