2018 Annual Report

The new digital era has brought steady growth to the Association, along with new communication capabilities, allowing face-to-face meetings for all its members and local leaders around the world. It is surprising how much the Association accomplishes with so little money. But the continued effort to spread the teachings of The Urantia Book throughout Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia requires more volunteers, more leaders, more members, and more money.

Multiple Subsites

In 2018, the Urantia Association added a new feature to its main website to allow for multiple subsites. This change is proving to be a great benefit to the many associations who can now create their own websites without the usual technical hassles and costs of running a website. All costs for the server, domain name fees, technical support, upgrades and backup are part of this complimentary service. Volunteers with website content management experience provide all the necessary training and support as a free service to motivated leaders. This is an effective way to integrate and share a wealth of information under one umbrella.

Modernizing Our Infrastructure

As Bradly Tharp, our Chief Financial Officer so eloquently points out:

It has been my privilege to witness the growth and transformation of the International Association. The new digital era has brought steady growth to the Association, along with new communication capabilities, allowing face-to-face meetings for all its members and local leaders around the world.

“We now offer multilingual virtual study groups, live-streaming and archiving of presentations, workshops and training, a digital archive for future access, and social media communities in many languages. Our Representative Council, International Service Board, and expanding continental leadership teams now conduct virtual meetings with real-time translation and document sharing online.

“We have also developed shared website and database development systems, including integrated business software applications and organizational tools for our National and Local Associations. Other benefits of the modernization of Urantia Association are local volunteer recruiting and training for service to regional associations, banking, budgeting, and global cash transfer capabilities, which now reach all associations.”
