True Religion—The Great Liberator
One of the important revelations of The Urantia Book is certainly related to what true religion is, our personal relationship with God, a relationship of mutual love. But how can we courageously and steadfastly live our own relationship with God throughout the daily challenges of earthly living? How do we move from mere belief to living faith? How can we live in God, with God, for God, and for the spiritual well-being of all, including our own?
Religion effectually cures man’s sense of idealistic isolation or spiritual loneliness; it enfranchises the believer as a son of God, a citizen of a new and meaningful universe. Religion assures man that, in following the gleam of righteousness discernible in his soul, he is thereby identifying himself with the plan of the Infinite and the purpose of the Eternal. Such a liberated soul immediately begins to feel at home in this new universe, his universe. [Paper 101:10.7, page 1117.1]
True religion as it is presented to us by the Melchizedek revelator is a personal matter and faith is the driving engine of this personal experience. Love supplies the soil to develop our personal relationship with God and with our siblings. Although faith can be a great mystery, in his perfect plan, God, our Universal Father has provided a solution to this mystery by giving each of us a Mystery Monitor that leads and guides us to live the exhilarating experience of living faith that God is offering to us.
His divine presence, our Thought Adjuster may indeed guide us with love and wisdom step by step on the spiritual paths of consecrated living, but it is up to each of us to fully accept the leading of our divine indweller and live wholeheartedly our own experience with God. By sincerely engaging ourselves in this process of growth and transformation through God’s love, we can all progressively benefit from the sevenfold and gradual salvation by faith, as we move along in our conquest of the seven psychic circles.
Signs of true religion are shown in an individual’s life by his love for God and all his companions, a deep peace from within and the abundant production of the fruits of the spirit as Jesus has shown us so perfectly throughout his life as the Son of Man among men.
Quite a challenge is offered to us. Are we ready to experience religion at its best?
I see in the teachings of Jesus, religion at its best. This gospel enables us to seek for the true God and to find him. But are we willing to pay the price of this entrance into the kingdom of heaven? Are we willing to be born again? to be remade? [Paper 160:5.10, page 1782.1]

Union of souls—the mobilization of wisdom. Now it is possible, through personality association, to unite these views of temporal existence and eternal prospects. Thus does the mind of one augment its spiritual values by gaining much of the insight of the other. In this way men enrich the soul by pooling their respective spiritual possessions.
