JulianParticipantHello to all my friends and fellow students of The Urantia Book,
I have received a request from a woman named Greta, who has been unable to register on the Forum, mainly due to technical problems. She would nevertheless like to establish contact with any readers who might be willing to engage in conversations about the Revelation via emails. She is very keen to learn more about the book but needs assistance with some of the more difficult sections. She has given me permission to reproduce her letter of request on the Forum. So here it is:
« I don’t know if you have any kind of electronic bulletin board thatother members see, but if so, I would like to post a notice to anyonewho might be interested in a one-on-one dialogue. If they would liketo correspond with me directly for the purpose of studying and discussingthe Urantia Book, I would be happy to do so through regular e-mail. Thiswas the method of communication I was originally interested in establishingwhen someone suggested the Forum. When I explained my problems withthe Forum, they referred me to you.I appreciate your efforts but my needs are actually quite simple and don’treally require a Forum. The occasional input of two or three seriousstudents — or even a single individual — would be fine. Just someone toshare opinions and ideas with, along with some different perspectives. As far as local reading groups in my area are concerned, I attended one thatconfined itself to the Jesus Papers. They seemed intimidated by the earlierportions of the book. Another group is run by an elderly lady who admitsshe can’t really count on any turnout from one week to the next, so I havenever pursued that one.I have been reading the Urantia Book on my own since the early 1990s, butit would be nice to have someone to talk to and study with.Thank you for all your help and support, Moderator 2. You’ve certainly gone‘above and beyond’, as they say, and it’s sincerely appreciated. »GretaGreta’s email address is: concept077@aol.comI hope that some of you may be able to help Greta!
chucksmith1982ParticipantWhile this may not be what she wants, have you considered telling her about an online study group that uses Zoom or Skype? Some of the material in the ub, in my opinion, is to complex for email.
JulianParticipantHi Chuck. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know of any online study groups that she could join? If so, you might like to drop her a line to let her know.
Blessing!
Julian
JulianParticipantI want to thank those readers who kindly made contact with Greta and offered her their experience and understanding of the book. She is delighted!!!
