    5. Erroneous Concepts of Adjuster Guidance

110:5.1 (1207.7) Do not confuse and confound the mission and influence of the Adjuster with what is commonly called conscience; they are not directly related. Conscience is a human and purely psychic reaction. It is not to be despised, but it is hardly the voice of God to the soul, which indeed the Adjuster’s would be if such a voice could be heard. Conscience, rightly, admonishes you to do right; but the Adjuster, in addition, endeavors to tell you what truly is right; that is, when and as you are able to perceive the Monitor’s leading.

In regard to conscience quoted above i think “admonishes” is a key word here. May I split a hair: It’s more of a self reprimand based on hindsight, not to be confused with an urge to do the right thing. Like shoulda, woulda, coulda and didn’t but next time it’ll be better.

    or:

    feed forward=Adjuster urge.

Feedback= admonished adjusted urge – if needed.

Yeah, that’s the problem with being a dual natured creature.  But the trajectory of the loop is supposed to spiral forward and upwards.  If you can hope for a next time, then you’re striving. And it’s not what you are but what you’re striving to become that matters.

If the conscience hammers you with guilt; if that guilt is laced with desires for punishment and shame; then chances are you’re not striving for change but stagnating in a self-defeating feedback loop.  On the other hand, if the conscience admonishes you to get up and try again because you missed the mark, then you’re hoping, striving, and attempting to change, which means the loop is progressing forward. And progressing forward is the same as moving (transferring) identity towards the soul.

111:1.5  And it is not so much what mind comprehends as what mind desires to comprehend that insures survival; it is not so much what mind is like as what mind is striving to be like that constitutes spirit identification. It is not so much that man is conscious of God as that man yearns for God that results in universe ascension. What you are today is not so important as what you are becoming day by day and in eternity.

147:5.7 The important thing is not the rapidity of your progress but rather its certainty. Your actual achievement is not so important as the fact that the direction of your progress is Godward. What you are becoming day by day is of infinitely more importance than what you are today.
